When you are without boundaries in one area, you are usually without

boundaries in others. How does this affect your home environment,

your marriage and the happiness and discipline of your children?

MORE ABOUT THE DURBANVILLE FAMILY CHURCH CRECHE PROJECT

In South Africa today, a large portion of our population is struggling with poverty and living in

areas where access to opportunities to improve their situation is scarce. In these poor

socio-economic are as, there is limited stimulation for young children, and therefore their

brain development is generally inadequate. In addition, the conditions in the average home

are often devoid of stability and not conducive to brain stimulation.

This is especially true of AIDS orphans.

To help address this problem, Durbanville Family Church launched the DFC Crèche Project.

This project is aimed at equipping teachers from local crèches in the Wallacedene and

Bloekombos areas,so that they have the necessary skills to effectively stimulate children

under their care and provide much needed resources. We have had a phenomenal response

with more than 30 teachers (representing hundreds of children) apply to attend our

weekly training programs.

We are currently making use of facilities which have been generously offered to us at no charge,

but due to the growing interest to attend, we have quickly outgrown the number of teachers

we can accommodate in the existing facility. Last year, we were able to purchase a piece of

ground in Wallacedene. The ground is large enough to accommodate a large training facility and

possible, upcoming developments like a crèche and clinic.

This will allow us to have a far bigger impact on the community.

Our immediate need is funds to sustain the training project and the purchase of much needed

resources for the crèches. We are trusting for funds to start developing our ground by

first erecting a fence around the property, and then building the training facility.
